Pastor Janneke's sermon for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, "Meet Your Redeemer," is based on the Old Testament reading, Isaiah 44:6-8. Other passages reference in the sermon include Psalm 103, Psalm 130:7-8, and the Epistle reading (Romans 8:18-27) and Gospel reading (Matthew 12:24-30, 36-43) for this weekend. The recording begins with the sermon hymn, "There Is A Redeemer."
Our services on the weekend of July 1-2 were led by guest missionary, Pastor Dave Horn. Pastor Dave is a gifted finger-style guitarist and vocalist. He and his wife, Sabra, are full-time LCMS missionary-musicians. The service recording includes Pastor Dave's pre-service music. To learn more about the Horns, please visit their website.
To follow along with the service using the service folder, please click here. The service includes several thought-provoking quotations from Martin Luther, as well as four of Luther's hymns. Pastor Dave's Reformation-focused service is especially appropriate as we are less than four months away from the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation!
Pastor Aker's sermon for the Third Sunday after Pentecost, "Truth Bearers," is based on a verse from the Old Testament Reading: "But the LORD is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me" (Jeremiah 20:11).
